Hygge Revolution

The 18th-century Danish concept of hygge revolutionized European home life by introducing a new way of thinking about comfort and community. According to historians at the University of Copenhagen, hygge has its roots in old Norwegian, where it meant something like well-being. As noted by the Danish Tourism Board, hygge is about taking time away from the daily rush to be together with people you care about, to relax and enjoy life's quieter pleasures.
